Pilates is a type of exercise developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. The guiding principle of Pilates is to strengthen the core, which can help alleviate pain and discomfort while developing whole body strength, improving posture, and increasing balance. Through a series of low impact exercises, we can support your overall health, reclaim your body after pregnancy, or improve your performance in a sport activity. There are also countless ways to modify Pilates exercises to suit your ability and level of fitness and stay safe while being physically challenged.

Supportive care for your body and mind, before and after childbirth.
During pregnancy, women undergo significant physical, emotional, hormonal, and mental changes as they grow and nurture their babies. Each pregnancy is unique and, as such, symptoms and experiences differ from woman to woman. Pregnant women are often told that symptoms such as pelvic pain, constipation, urinary incontinence, feeling pressure in her pelvis, low back pain, etc. are normal and expected. Very often, these common symptoms are treatable through pelvic floor therapy.

Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) is any “hands-on” treatment that addresses conditions that affect movement, strength, posture, or cause pain. Treatment may include moving joints in specific directions and at different speeds to regain movement (joint mobilization and manipulation), muscle stretching, passive movements of the affected body part, or having the patient move the body part against the therapist’s resistance to improve muscle activation and timing. Specific soft tissue techniques may also be used to improve the mobility and function of tissue and muscles.

Massage therapy involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body to help manage a health condition or enhance wellness, and can include many different techniques. It has been practiced in most cultures throughout human history, and was one of the earliest tools that people used to relieve pain. Massage can be helpful for symptoms such as low-back pain, neck and shoulder pain, pain from osteoarthritis of the knee, headaches, and more.
